What Is the Difference of HMI and Touchscreen?
Leave a message
HMI (Human Machine Interface) and touch screen are two different concepts, they are different in terms of function and application.
HMI refers to the interface for interaction and communication between people and machines, which usually includes graphical display screen, touch screen, keyboard, mouse, indicator light, voice, voice recognition and other elements to realize information exchange and operation control between people and machines.
The principle of HMI is based on the design principles and technical means of human-computer interaction. Through the realization of user interface design, information display, user input and control, feedback and prompt, and data interaction and processing, human and machine can effectively interact and communicate.
HMI is widely used in various fields and industries, including industrial automation, robotics, transportation, medical devices, smart homes, computers and mobile devices.
The touch screen is an input device installed in front of the display, replacing some functions of the mouse and keyboard, and the user can select and control the functions of the system through the touch screen.
Touch screen can be divided into a variety of types, such as capacitive and resistive, etc., different types of touch screen in the working principle and applicable environment are different.
In summary, HMI is a complete system of human-computer interaction, including display screen, touch screen and other input and output devices, and touch screen is only an input device in HMI. In the industrial field, people often refer to human-machine interface products with touch input function as "touch screen", but this is not scientific.
