Touch Screen Structure & Technology

For projected capacitive touch screens, the typical structure consists of multiple functional layers:

Main Components
 

1. Cover Glass

The cover glass provides mechanical protection for the touch sensor and display. It can be customized with different thicknesses, shapes, surface treatments, colors, and printing designs.

AG (Anti-Glare)

AR (Anti-Reflection)

AF (Anti-Fingerprint)

2. Touch Sensor

The touch sensor detects the user's finger or stylus and converts touch actions into electrical signals.

Depending on the application, different sensor structures can be provided, including:

OGS (One Glass Solution)

3. OCA Optical Adhesive

OCA (Optically Clear Adhesive) is used to bond the touch sensor, cover glass, and display.

Optical bonding can improve:

Display clarity

Light transmittance

Contrast

Touch sensitivity

Outdoor readability

Resistance to dust and moisture

4. FPC

The Flexible Printed Circuit (FPC) connects the touch sensor to the touch controller and main control system.

The FPC can be customized according to the customer's mechanical and electrical requirements.
 

5. Touch Controller IC

The Touch Controller IC processes touch signals and communicates with the host system through interfaces such as:

USB

I²C

SPI

UART

The touch controller can be selected according to the operating system, touch size, number of touch points, and application requirements.
 

Touch Screen + LCD Integration
 

For a complete touch display solution, the touch panel can be integrated with an LCD display through optical bonding or air bonding.
