Panel Display Technology Is Diversified, LCD Is Still The Mainstream

In recent years, the color TV industry has continuously emerged new panel display technology and accelerated iteration, which has set off another round of climax for the industry. In this regard, Dong Min, general manager of the Black electricity Division of AVC, said that the "blooming of a hundred flowers" of display technology can create a better user experience to a certain extent and promote the rapid development of the industry.
From full HD to ultra-high definition display technology, from "flat" to unique curved surface display technology, LCD liquid crystal technology has shown a strong vitality. After entering 2014, the screen factory seized the development opportunity, comprehensively upgraded the LCD TV resolution, and introduced 4K to the market on a large scale; In order to further improve the picture quality, the screen factory even launched an 8K display panel, a comprehensive layout of the ultra-high-definition display field. At present, with the increasingly rich coverage size and features of 4K TVS, as well as more affordable prices, 2014 is expected to be the explosive year of UHD.
Since SONY took the lead in releasing curved LCD TVS in 2013, many companies have launched new curved TVS. Although 4K is the mainstream at present, there are still limitations in live broadcasting and content, so that consumers may not feel the obvious difference; In addition, the current LCD curved TV, only a change in physical form, does not involve a great leap in technology, at present, the main first-line panel manufacturers have the ability to launch a curved module, or supply a flexible Open Cell to the machine manufacturer, and then the machine manufacturer in the system side to produce curved LCD TV. Therefore, to "curved TV" as a new trend to promote, will be a good marketing point.
Dong Min stressed that the size of the future development space of curved TV is not focused on technology, production capacity, or even cost, but needs to be verified by the market and the acceptance of consumers. In addition, considering the low yield and expensive price of curved screens, it will take time to improve the display Angle and sense of presence, "it is expected that the development prospect of curved TV remains to be seen."
OLED has been recognized as the "next generation display technology", but due to the technology is not mature enough, low yield reasons, its current degree of development is more limited. Although some screen factories such as SDC have a conservative attitude towards OLED, there are still LGD and other manufacturers are full of confidence in OLED, not only in the production line planning, product planning and active layout, while through technological improvements, the yield will be increased from 40% to about 70%. At present, subject to the influence of key technologies, costs and other factors, there is still a long process for the large-scale application of panels and large-scale industrialization. Ovi Consulting (AVC) predicts that global OLED panel shipments will reach 200,000 units in 2014. It is expected that the next 2-3 years will show the parallel state of OLED technology and the current mainstream TFT-LCD technology, and there will be a turnaround in 2017, but OLED can not replace LCD TV in the short term.
Although the laser cold screen display appears after the liquid crystal and OLED, it has the advantages of non-dazzling screen, clearer picture quality, lower price of the same size, more energy saving TV, long service life, and so on, and also shows strong vitality. With the further advancement of industrialization, the continuous maturity of technology and market, the reduction of cost prices, especially the reduction of laser costs, the application rate of laser TV in large venues will be greatly improved, and the time generally entered the home will be shortened, which is expected to take 5 to 10 years, which will pose a challenge to the current LCD industry.
