What is Touch Screen?

As a new input device, touch screen is currently the most simple, convenient and natural way of human-computer interaction.
Touch screen, also known as "touch panel", is an inductive LCD display device that can receive touch input signals; When touching the graphical buttons on the screen, the haptic feedback system on the screen can drive a variety of connecting devices according to a pre-programmed program, which can be used to replace the mechanical button panel, and create vivid audio and video effects through the LCD display screen, its main application fields are mobile phones, tablet computers, cash registers, industrial fields, etc.
There are several main types of touch screens on the market: resistive, surface capacitive and inductive capacitive touch screens, surface acoustic wave, infrared, as well as curved wave, active digital converter and optical imaging touch screens. One can be divided into two categories, one needs ITO, such as the first three touch screens, and the other does not need ITO in the structure, such as the latter several screens. At present, resistive touch screens and capacitive touch screens using ITO materials are the most widely used in the market.
The typical touch screen structure is generally composed of three parts: two layers of transparent resistive conductors, an isolation layer between two layers of conductors, and an electrode.
Resistive conductor layer: The upper substrate is plastic, the lower substrate is glass, and the electrically conductive indium tin oxide (ITO) is coated on the substrate to form two ITO layers, separated by some isolating fulcrum about a thousandth of an inch thick.
Electrode: The selection of excellent conductive materials (such as silver ink), its conductive performance is about 1000 times that of ITO.
Isolation layer: The use of a very thin elastic polyester film PET, when the surface is touched it will bend down, and make the following two layers of ITO coating can contact each other, so as to connect the circuit, which is why the touch screen can achieve the key to touch.
