In today's digital wave, touch screens have become the "standard configuration" of various electronic devices, deeply changing the way people interact. The mainstream touch screens are mainly capacitive screens and resistive screens. They have their own characteristics and play a key role in different fields.
Capacitive screens are the darlings of current smart devices. Most of the smartphones and tablets we use in daily life use capacitive screen technology. Its working principle is based on the human body's electric field. When a finger touches the screen, the capacitance of the screen surface will change, and the touch point can be accurately located by detecting the change in capacitance. The biggest advantage of capacitive screens is fast response speed, smooth touch operation, and support for multi-touch, which can easily achieve complex gestures such as zooming and rotating. However, it also has limitations, such as high environmental requirements. In cold, dry or humid environments, touch sensitivity may be affected, and wearing gloves is basically ineffective.
Resistive screens have a different working mechanism. They are composed of two layers of deformable resistive films. When external force presses the screen, the two layers of film come into contact, changing the resistance value, and then determining the touch position. Resistive screens are affordable and were widely used in industrial control, car navigation and other fields in the early days. Because they sense pressure, they can be operated with fingers, stylus, or even gloves. However, the touch accuracy of resistive screens is relatively low, and they are prone to wear after multiple presses, which affects their service life.
With the continuous advancement of technology, capacitive screens and resistive screens are also continuously optimized and upgraded, bringing people a more convenient and efficient interactive experience. In the future, they will continue to be active in different application scenarios, helping smart life to reach new heights.
